i did this for IB Higher Art.
Yes I tore out every single eye from various magazines and put them all over my body with double sided tape. It all took about 2 hours to do.
but I'm happy with how it ended up.
(I'll be submitting old works now, I feel bad for abandoning dA)
It IS hell. O_O
People would give me shit whenever I said "IB Art is probably my hardest and most stressful class." They'd always be like "Dude, it's just fucking ART. Don't you just paint and draw?" ARRRRGHHH!!! Anyone in my class would feel the same wrath and want to strangle whoever says crap like that.
Not ACTUAL essays....but we had to write PAGES and PAGES of crap explaining our work!!! So it was as tedious as writing an essay, except without the need to pay attention to structures & paragraphs and shit. I still did though, cos I'm a perfectionist ha.
We had to explain & justify EVERYTHING about our piece...splattered paint - why? colour red - why? horizontal lines - why? this particular organization - why? And everything we did had to be documented in our research workbooks (dreaded books from hell!) including experimentation, exhibitions we go to. Blah....it was horrible. God knows how I managed to get a fricking 7!!! (a 7 is the highest score) I was pretty much speechless haha.
I went back to the school before it went out for holidays back in December to talk to my counsellor about college stuff and visit my old teachers. When I went up to the art room the art teachers were asking me if I wanted my research workbook back even though they've "been using it to show the new art students examples of what they have to do, and yours, Katricia's, Rachel's and Alice's have been very helpful". I was just like "ok well in that case, KEEP IT! I don't want, I mean NEED, it!" BAD memories from that book. Memories of me doing research & analysis for 6 hours straight. Memories of me stressing out over not having enough new pages filled out. Memories of me staying up till when I should actually be waking up just to add new material into my book. No fucking way I wanted that cursed evil book around me haha.
Brilliant work, full of art with a social-politician undertone I think
I love this though.

Gah. Did you have to write like essays and crap in your art class?

Haha. RWB. Did you do any drawings in it or did you guys only use yours for writing the writing and analyzing and crap?
